October 26: Origins of Jamaican Music with Edward Seaga

Join the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University for "Origins of Jamaican Music," as Vivien Goldman interviews former Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Seaga.

This fall, VP Records will release a 4-CD box set of 100 of the most significant hit songs to emerge from the first fifty years of Jamaican independence, curated by Edward Seaga. In honor of the occasion, Mr. Seaga, who played a key role in the birth and development of the Jamaican music industry while serving as Jamaica's minister of Culture will talk to Vivien Goldman, author of The Book of Exodus: The Making and Meaning of Bob Marley and the Wailers' Album of the Century about his unparalleled role in the development of Jamaica’s government and its music industry.
